API Designer

Job title: API Designer
Localization: Katowice
Remote Work: YES – max two days a week

Main duties:

• Define and apply best practices for API design across all system interfaces including both synchronous and asynchronous transactions
• Ensure API interfaces are aligned with product user interface functionality
• Document API interface specifications and customer guidelines
• Define canonical representation for API transactions
• Garner feedback from services, customers, and partners to define new API requirements
• Conduct design reviews with product management, map developers and quality, and core developers and architects
• Work closely with development and quality to resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle
• Serve as the product expert for all API interfaces (existing and new).
• Triage issues related to API interfaces and provide recommended course of action
• Work with documentation team to contribute technical input and provide review feedback of customer guidelines related to API interfaces
• Ensure backward compatibility of API changes to ensure customer and partner integration continuity

Prerequisites for the job are:

• Knowledge of REST, OData, GraphQL, CQRS, Microservices architecture, event sourcing
• Experience with API design, stay current on API trends in the industry, paying special attention to market leaders and applying those trends to client’s API interfaces
• Experience with document API interface specifications and customer guidelines
• Work closely with system architects, core developers, and map developers while defining APIs and Canonicals for the platform and applications
• Knowledge of design, review and provide comments on API Test Plans
